ArmInfo. The authorities' attempts to deprive head of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan of his lawmaker's mandate are groundless. On November 26, MP from the "PA" faction Ivette Tonoyan stated this to journalists.
To recall, the Council of the National Assembly of Armenia during a closed session on November 24 made a decision to satisfy the petition of the Corruption Prevention Commission and will appeal to the Constitutional Court with a request to consider the issue of depriving head of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan from the lawmaker's mandate.
According to Iveta Tonoyan, during the meeting of the Council groundlessness of the substantiation was also revealed. In this case, the MP continued, it is about the political persecution of the leader of the faction and the party of the same name. Specifically, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is trying to settle scores with Gagik Tsarukyan, and the Council's decision fits within the framework of this logic, of which everyone has already had the opportunity to make sure. The deprivation of Gagik Tsarukyan of his lawmaker's mandate will not change anything. These are representatives of the authorities who, for the sake of their prosperous life, are ready to do anything. For them, there are no such concepts as holiness, national values, they define a person only by mandates. We are dealing with small people, "said Yvette Tonoyan.
She added that Nikol Pashinyan must leave, and leave as soon as possible. The opposition will continue its struggle to achieve this goal. The authorities are shocked by the processes that are taking place today, and this is evidenced by the issue of the abolition of martial law being discussed today in the country's parliament. The authorities do not want to be canceled, although they do not present substantiated arguments in favor of their position. Even the fact that the main speaker from the government on the issue of the abolition of martial law is the Deputy Minister of Health already shows everything.
