ArmInfo.Participants of the "Don't be silent!" action, gathered in front of the UN office in Yerevan today, met with UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp.
A participant of the action, PRESIDENT of the "Europe in Law Association" human rights public organization Lusine Hakobyan stressed that the participants of the action expressed their concern over the situation in Artsakh.
"We asked Shombi Sharp to be more active. We handed him letters from our fellow citizens expressing public concern over the situation in Artsakh. The Azerbaijani armed forces, in tandem with Turkish servicemen and terrorists, are opposing the peaceful population of Artsakh. Strikes are being made on civil infrastructure and our historical monuments. Journalists who are doing their job are being fired at. UN representatives should go to Artsakh and see everything that happens with their own eyes, "Hakobyan stressed.
The human rights activist also noted that Shombi Sharp assured that they are concerned about the situation and are taking steps to resolve it. Sharp assured that some of the efforts are now not visible, but that does not mean that they are not. The UN coordinator in Armenia also promised to intensify his efforts to resolve the conflict.
