According to published materials provided by the Interfax agency, Russian carriers want to get the right to fly not only to countries that are open by the government, but also to stock up on admissions to those that are still closed.
For example, charter AZUR air has requested admissions to regular flights from a number of Russian cities to London, Cairo, and the Maldives. Nordwind Airlines is requesting access to the Kaliningrad - Istanbul route. These two destinations are open for flights.
At the same time, Red Wings and Azimut are asking for admission to regular flights from the regions to the still closed Azerbaijan, NordStar, Ural Airlines and AZUR air - to Armenia, "Russia", "UTair", "RusLine" - to Belarus ... Also, carriers apply for admissions to Germany, Greece, Georgia, Israel, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, China and a number of other countries not yet allowed to fly. Several companies have requested admissions to charter flights: to Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Dominican Republic, Spain, France. Some carriers ask for admissions to the flights of the current spring-summer schedule (valid until the end of October), some are stocked up for the fall-winter.
The meeting of the commission is scheduled for September 17 in absentia. The Russian Federation suspended all commercial passenger flights abroad amid the COVID-19 pandemic at the end of March. On August 1, carriers were allowed to fly from several Russian cities to London, Ankara, Istanbul, Zanzibar (Tanzania), from August 10 to Turkish Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, and from August 15 to Switzerland. Regular flights to Cairo, Dubai and the Maldives also resumed in September.
