ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge.
According to the press service of the government, in his message he particularly noted: "The situation that has arisen in the republic due to the coronavirus epidemic does not make it possible to visit the school on this memorable day. Unfortunately, first graders will also have to spend September 1 without going to school. Nevertheless, after analyzing the course of the development of the pandemic, we decided to open schools in the coming days and ensure the learning process in compliance with anti-epidemic rules.
At the same time, I am glad that from September 1, universities partially begin their activities, and freshmen are entering a new stage of life. At the same time, I want to thank all the teachers for the fact that in the last academic year they mastered the tools of distance education, and carried out this process at a high level.
As I noted above, in connection with the epidemic, this school year it is necessary to strictly observe anti- epidemic rules, preventing the possibility of schools becoming a hotbed of infection, which will allow the educational process to be carried out in a natural way. I am sure that as a result of consistent steps, we will together overcome these difficulties.
The Armenian government has repeatedly spoken about the need to have a knowledge-based economy and bring the quality of education to a new level. In our priorities, the development of the educational system takes its permanent place, and we are confident that it is impossible to ensure economic and political growth in the country without deep educational reforms, and these reforms are impossible without public participation. Only in this way can we give a sharp impetus to the economy, training and improving the quality of life, training consonant with the labor market and competitive personnel. For us, a significant challenge is the problem of linking educational institutions with the labor market, and we have a lot to do in this direction. For our society, a teacher, a scientist should become a source of inspiration. I am confident that we can achieve the education of our dreams, which, in turn, will enable us to achieve the strategic goals proclaimed by the Republic of Armenia.
Dear pupils and students! In any educational institution, we must learn to change the world, change our country, our way of life for the better. This is the mission of all of us, towards the realization of which we must jointly overcome all the challenges and move forward>.
