ArmInfo. Ombudsman of Armenia Arman Tatoyan received representatives of the public organization "Yazidi Center for Human Rights". Tatoyan announced this on his page in the social network Facebook.
"The protection of the rights of national minorities living in our country, including the Yezidis, is in the center of our constant attention. It is very important for the Human Rights Defender that the Yezidis living in Armenia can effectively use their rights, preserving national traditions and values, "the Ombudsman emphasized.
Tatoyan said that during the days of the State of Emergency, the Ombudsman's manual on the "new state of emergency amid coronavirus" was published in the Yazidi language. This was done so that national minorities had the opportunity to learn about existing problems in the national language. In turn, the head of the Yazidi Center for Human Rights Sashik Sultanyan thanked the Human Rights Defender for the work done in this area. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to joint work aimed at protecting human rights.
