ArmInfo. The number of people infected with coronavirus in Armenia is gradually decreasing. Armenian Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this during a briefing after a meeting of the Commandant's Office.
The minister stressed that it is necessary to monitor what the indicators will be during the week. <However, to date, we have recorded progress, the number of infected is becoming less and less. The peak of the disease was recorded on July 6 in Armenia. After that day, there was a decline in the number of people infected with the virus, and this trend continues to this day, "Torosyan emphasized.
He noted that if citizens continue to comply with anti-epidemiological rules, the pace of stabilization of the situation will accelerate. "I assure you, if all citizens wear masks, maintain social distance and disinfect their hands, the number of people infected will decrease very quickly. As for the workload of the healthcare system, I would like to inform you that we have hospital beds, including intensive care beds, that are not used . If this continues, we will reduce the number of hospital beds, being ready to increase them again, if necessary, "the minister stressed.
Torosyan noted that if citizens do not comply with anti-epidemiological measures, the situation may sharply worsen again. <However, given the current situation, from August 1, we intend the infectious diseases hospital in Vanadzor, and the medical centers in Vedi and Dilijan to their usual work. Three more medical centers in Yerevan, if the situation continues to improve, will also return to their normal work, this decision will be made within 7-10 days, "he said.
The minister stressed that the number of patients in serious condition is less than 500 people. <This in turn will lead to a decrease in mortality. We are now in control of the situation. But I want to once again urge citizens to observe all anti-epidemiological measures, otherwise we can return to where we started, "concluded Torosyan.
