ArmInfo. The situation with the coronavirus in Armenia has improved recently. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a briefing after a session of the Commandant's Office. As he noted, according to the indicators of recent days, the country returned to the statistics that were in May.
"Anti-epidemiological measures taken by the government, in particular, the mask wearing regime, began to take effect. I want to note that against the background of the improvement of the situation, we urge citizens not to lose their vigilance and continue to comply with all the instructions of the Commandant's Office.
Otherwise, we can return to the situation that was recorded at the peak of the pandemic. We have examples of several countries in which, after the situation improved, people stopped observing anti-epidemiological measures, after which the situation deteriorated sharply, "the Prime Minister emphasized.
Pashinyan said that the purpose of today's briefing is to urge citizens to continue to comply with anti- epidemiological measures. "I know that some citizens hope that with the decrease in the number of cases, some restrictions will be lifted. I would like to inform you that this issue is constantly on our agenda, the Armenian government is more than anyone else interested in lifting the restrictions. If we have not yet taken this step, then there are significant risks>, the Prime Minister emphasized.
The head of the Cabinet added that many citizens also hope to resume flights in order to spend their holidays abroad. "I would like to urge our citizens to give preference to the resorts of Armenia and to develop domestic tourism. I am sure that there are places in our country that you have not yet visited, we have a wonderful opportunity to get to know Armenia better, "Pashinyan concluded.
