The interlocutors confirmed their mutual readiness to undertake efforts to expand and deepen the Armenian-Iraqi ties, which have historical roots. In this context, the significance of the activities of the Armenian-Iraqi intergovernmental commission was indicated.
Mnatsakanyan expressed his gratitude to Hussein for the traditional warm attitude and concern for the Armenian community of Iraq. In this context, the parties praised the role of the Armenian community in strengthening bilateral relations.
The interlocutors also touched on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda, mutually emphasizing the importance of regional peace and stability. Ministers exchanged views on recent processes in the Middle East. In this regard, the parties indicated the importance of preserving the rights of national, religious and ethnic minorities, spiritual and historical heritage in the Middle East.
