ArmInfo.Yes, meetings are now limited, according to the provision on the state of emergency, mass gatherings are prohibited, but who said that participants in a potential meeting must necessarily express dissatisfaction with the current government. This was announced on June 22 during a briefing by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, responding to the question that many opposition forces accuse the current authorities of extending the state of emergency due to political reasons.
"And who said that 5-10-20 or even 100 times more participants in this potential rally should not have expressed dissatisfaction with the activities of some corrupt officials? In general, this should be taken into account. And some should be thankful that there is a state of emergency in Armenia, and there is no way to hold meetings, because, otherwise, I think the supporters of the revolution would in some cases have held mass meetings and would have spoken their word in at least a number of specific cases, in connection with the activities of certain individuals.
Let me also state that some of the so-called circles giving such comments overestimate their strength in holding rallies in Armenia. Because if the rally refers to the delivery of a limited number of people to an area by giving them 10 thousand drams and the organizers of these rallies rely on such people, their hopes will very quickly shatter after the state of emergency, " Pashinyan said.
However, the prime minister noted that today the government has set itself the task of making people less infected. According to him, in conditions when the government has gone to restrict the activities of scientific institutions, schools, kindergartens, and other centers, such comments are inappropriate. "Once again, this is a big question, which rally would be more large-scale- of supporters of the revolution or opponents of the government. Another question is who would resolve issues faster through these rallies," the prime minister said.
Meanwhile, clarifying when regular flights with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will be restored, especially with Russia, given the fact that many compatriots could not go abroad to earn money, as they did before, Pashinyan in particular, he said: "It depends on the situation with the pandemic not only in Armenia, but also in Russia. But, our main plan is to try to provide our citizens with work so that they have the opportunity to work here and not go to seasonal work. In any case, we are already implementing what we promised with capital projects, tenders have already been held for some of them. Work will be carried out as efficiently as possible, and our citizens will have the opportunity to work in the field, "the prime minister summed up.
