ArmInfo. The U.S. Embassy in Armenia congratulated Armenia on joining the International Religious Freedom Alliance.
Thus, the message published by the press service of the U.S. Embassy, in particular, reads: <Congratulations on Armenia's participation in the Alliance! Armenia is one of twenty-nine countries that have joined the International Religious Freedom Alliance, launched this February, to elevate and coordinate efforts of likeminded governments to protect the freedom of religion or belief for all.
Alliance members advocate for freedom of religion or belief for all, defined under Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This includes the right of individuals to hold any belief or none, to change religion or belief, and to manifest religion or belief, either alone or in community with others, in worship, observance, practice and teaching.>
As reported by the Armenian Foreign Ministry on June 13, Armenia, along with 28 other joined the International Religious Freedom Alliance formed in February 2020.
"As an HR advocate, we value freedom of religion. We reiterate our commitment to the joint efforts aimed at strengthening tolerance towards religious groups & preventing religion based harassment", the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry notes.
