ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan introduced the new director of the National Security  Service of Armenia Argishti Kyaramyan to the senior staff.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister once again expressed gratitude to  the former head of the department Eduard Martirosyan for his work as  director of the National Security Service, and before that. At the  same time, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that Martirosyan  headed the NSS in a very difficult and responsible period.

"I am glad to introduce the new head of the NSS - Argishti Kyaramyan  and wish him success in this important post. I would like to  emphasize that, of course, the NSS is a strong, established and  dynamic structure, but we must also state that the challenges and  pace, speed and quality of tackling them need constant improvement,  and it was this task that I set for Kyaramyan so that the NSS could  more effectively respond to the challenges that we face in the field  of security, " the Prime Minister of Armenia said, adding that the  meaning of the word security changes over time, new challenges arise  that were not even predicted before. As example, Pashinyan cited the  situation with a new type of coronavirus, modern information and  political problems, as well as issues related to the dynamics of the  investigation of corruption cases.

At the same time, he expressed his conviction that two years is a  sufficient period for the officers of the National Security Service  of Armenia to be able to take the position of the leadership of the  country, which came to power through a velvet non-violent revolution  and decide on their position.

"And I believe that the time has come to summarize who took advantage  of this opportunity. And from this point of view, specific answers  should be voiced. When I assumed the post of prime minister of the  country in 2018, it was important for me how such power bodies as the  NSS ensured the stability of systems, did not make erratic and  destabilizing movements and create opportunities so that all those  who have aspirations and desires are adapted to new realities. Now  it's time to take stock, "he said.

At the same time, he noted that the principle of career advancement  should work in all government agencies, and the key to this should be  work, professionalism and commitment to fulfill the statutory tasks  of the National Security Service to ensure the security of Armenia.

At the same time, he regretted that there are still people who are  moving against this logic and often use the destabilizing atmosphere  of harmony in departments to achieve this goal. At the same time, he  emphasized the inadmissibility of such actions, especially to the  detriment of work.

In conclusion, he expressed his conviction that Kyaramyan will be  able to rally the staff in the NSS, and increase the image of the  body to a level acceptable to Armenian citizens.
