ArmInfo. Negotiations are underway on providing assistance to Armenia in connection with the coronavirus. Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control, said this during a briefing.
According to him, a proposal for assistance to Armenia has already been received. "Negotiations are underway. As you know, we received a proposal, it will all be negotiable", Imnadze said, the Georgian MASS MEDIA reports. Earlier, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said that between the governments of Georgia and Armenia there is intensive communication on the issue of coronavirus. Moreover, at the end of last week, a telephone conversation took place between the heads of the foreign affairs agencies.
The foreign ministers of Armenia and Georgia exchanged views on steps taken at the national level to prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus and eliminate the socio-economic consequences of the pandemic. The Georgian Foreign Minister expressed support for Armenia in the fight against the epidemic and confirmed the readiness of the Government of Georgia to provide assistance in this matter.
The Armenian minister praised the established close cooperation at the level of various departments of Armenia and Georgia, practical periodic contacts and mutual assistance in overcoming the challenges caused by the spread of the epidemic, including the organization of the return of citizens of the two countries through the territory of Armenia and Georgia to their homeland.
