Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has come up with a proposal to President Armen Sarkissian to dismiss Director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Martirosyan, Chief of the General Staff Artak Davtyan and Chief of the Police Arman Sargsyan, the presidential administration of Armenia confirmed this information to Info. Then, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page said that Onik Gasparyan had been appointed head of the General Staff (he previously held the post of deputy head of the General Staff), Eduard Martirosyan will be replaced by the newly appointed deputy Argishti Kyramyan as director of the NSS and Colonel Vahe Ghazaryan was appointed Chief of Police.
At the same time, the prime minister added that the decision will enter into force after signing by the president.
It should be noted that the day before, the son of the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Armenia, Artak Davtyan, had a wedding, which was celebrated with sufficient scope despite the ban of the commandant's office. A video from the wedding ceremony circulated by the media caused a wide public outcry. In this regard, Davtyan issued a statement in which he did not refute the information about the wedding ceremony, indicating that everyone has the right to privacy. "I urge some individuals, the media, not to invade my personal and family space and not to try to drag me into political games," Davtyan said, while expressing his willingness to be punished, according to the law, if he committed violations.
