ArmInfo.The assembling of Kalashnikov AK-103 assault rifles in Armenia will begin in July, the production license is designed for 10 years, Maria Vorobyeva, the official representative of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, told Interfax on Thursday.
"The volume of production will be up to 50,000 products per year. The license is valid for 10 years," she said.
Vorobyeva noted that the contract for the supply of components for the organization of the phased assembly of AK-103 assault rifles in Armenia was concluded on the basis of the relevant decision of the Federal Service for the Economy of Russia on May 15, 2020.
According to Vorobyeva, the start of production of AK-103 in Armenia is scheduled for the first decade of July this year.
Earlier on Thursday, the Armenian state news agency "Armenpress" with reference to the head of the enterprise Igor Gordienko reported that the plant's work will be organized in two stages. "At the initial stage, the parts will be delivered from Russia.
