Gagik Khachatryan filed a lawsuit against Nikol Pashinyan

Former head of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Khachatryan and his sons, Artem and Gurgen Khachatryans, have filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the  Government Apparatus and  Press Secretary of the Prime Minister Mane  Gevorgyan. According to the DataLex judicial information system, the  lawsuit was filed on June 2.

The plaintiffs demand that the court to compel defendants to  apologize for the statement, which is an insult, and to refute  information that is defamatory. It is noteworthy that the claim for  non-pecuniary damage has not been voiced. According to the defense,  it is about Mane Gevorgyan's  post on Facebook on April 28. 

To recall, in the mentioned post particularly mentioned: <According  to the data of the Armenian government, Gagik Khachatryan and his  sons led the corrupt, mafia system operating in Armenia for many  years, as a result of which accumulated illegal wealth of several  hundred million dollars>. Grigoryan also indicated that members of  the Khachatryan family at a meeting with various officials expressed  their willingness to return the loot.

To note, Gagik Khachatryan is accused of embezzlement on a  particularly large scale and abuse of power.  Gagik Khachatryan and  his relative Karen Khachatryan (former SRC employee) were detained on  August 27. He was charged under Part 2 of Article 308 of the Criminal  Code of the Republic of Armenia (Misappropriation or embezzlement of  funds on an especially large scale) and part 2 of Article 308 of the  Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (Abuse of official authority  entailing reckless grave consequences).
