ArmInfo.Former Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan refused to comment on the question of whether he met in Rome with Mikael Minasyan on Nikol Pashinyan's instruction.
Thus, Vanetsyan, after leaving the Special Investigation Service, where he was invited, in an interview with reporters, referring to this issue, recalled that in connection with this statement the SIS instituted a criminal case, and a preliminary investigation is being carried out in the framework of this case, and considering this circumstance, he cannot give any comments.
To the journalist's question, what did he mean when he said last September that Mikael Minasyan is a person who must answer before the law and whether he believes he has committed criminal offenses, Vanetsyan replied: "My opinion does not matter: if law enforcement agencies can justify the guilt of Mikael Minasyan, or of any person in general, and the court finds him guilty, then this person is guilty. " To clarify, as the former head of the NSS, whether he believes that there are circumstances on the basis of which Minasyan should be held accountable, Vanetsyan once again emphasized that the data for the period of his work in the NSS will never be made public. Asked by the journalist how it turned out that his wishes and those of Mikael Minasyan coincided with the question of changing the prime minister and forming a new government, Vanetsyan replied: "I was the first to speak about the resignation of the prime minister, back in January and now, when everyone is talking about it, parallels may be drawn, however I was teh first to voice the need of changing the head of government and the election of a new one, "he summed up. As ArmInfo previously reported, on May 25, the former director of the National Security Service (NSS) Artur Vanetsyan was invited to the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia in connection with the statement of the former Armenian ambassador to the Vatican, Mikael Minasyan, on the basis of which a criminal case was opened.
