ArmInfo. The political system existing in Armenia today, at least the parliamentary political system, was completely formed as a result and continuation of the revolution, an independent lawmaker of the Armenian parliament Arman Babajanyan, expressed a similar opinion ArmInfo.
"In this sense, not only the political majority party is revolutionary, but also other forces in the parliament. First of all, due to the fact that citizens voted for them as political parties that assisted the revolutionary team. By and large, their mandates are the result of assistance to revolution. Meanwhile, today we see how these forces in some cases behave towards the revolutionary team more unprincipled and harshly than even the representatives of the former government do, "he said. According to the parliamentarian, from this very point a fundamental contradiction arises. There is a gap between the mandate and respectively, trust received by these forces, and their current policies. Babajanyan believes that regular clashes in the parliament are the result of this contradiction as well. In his opinion, the current parliamentary opposition has completely lost the opportunity of its own institutional formation.
In the emergence of such a situation, in his opinion, of course, there is the fault of the authorities as well. However, if the opposition were established as a political, programmatic and ideological pole, and a future-oriented agenda were created, the authorities, even with the strongest desire, could not translate the political discourse into the mainstream of the struggle against the past. And, accordingly, get out of the situation as a winner. Without taking this opportunity, the parliamentary opposition is gradually slipping into the span, which, according to his forecasts, will negatively affect not only and not so much on it as on the political system of the country as a whole. In this light, the parliamentarian considers it a vital necessity to form and establish a fundamentally new, institutional and ideological opposition. The latter will not be associated with counter-revolution, thereby not threatening the sovereignty and security of the country and becoming a real alternative to power. Babajanyan considers fundamentally important that the new opposition has a clear foreign policy orientation and its own vision of Armenia's geopolitical future.
"Of course, this orientation should in no way be accompanied by a service to one or another center of power, which, unfortunately, we see today in Armenia. The opposition in all its qualities should always go at least one step ahead of the government. Because the government is already relative past, while the opposition represents the future. Meanwhile, we have no right to allow our future to be worse than the past and even the present. It is this conviction that lies at the basis of my desire to create and lead the establishment of a political force of similar quality ", the MP summarized.
