ArmInfo. The incident on May 8 in parliament was unpleasant and we regret that it happened. Mp from the Prosperous Armenia faction, press secretary of the head of the faction, Gagik Tsarukyan, Iveta Tonoyan, said this during a briefing on May 13.
She noted that what had happened in no way fit into the concept of democracy, parliamentarism and political dialogue. <We called on our colleagues to return to the constructive field, as our country faces serious problems that need to be addressed. Instead of addressing the issue of economic recovery, parliament is busy discussing an artificial agenda. I think this will not be of any use to anyone>, Tonoyan emphasized. According to the MP, the incident should be investigated, and the actions of the perpetrators should be given appropriate assessments. "As for the discussion on the formation of mandates with preconditions, I believe that each political force must decide how it should be," Tonoyan concluded.
To recall, on May 8 the work of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia was temporarily interrupted due to the conflict that arose between head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan and MP from the My Step faction Sasun Mikayelyan. Other MPs of the Armenian parliament were also involved in the assault. Clarification of relations with the participation of parliamentarians continued during the announced break, after which the conflicting parties finally dispersed.
