ArmInfo. The United States will provide 2000 coronavirus tests to Armenia .
So, according to the US Embassy in Armenia, the United States recently allocated $ 6 million to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). "The goal is to assist the International Atomic Energy Agency's efforts in the fight against a new type of coronavirus. These funds will provide assistance packages in the form of tests for coronavirus. Armenia will receive 2,000 tests," the US Embassy in Armenia said in a statement.
It is also noted that the role of the IAEA in combating COVID-19 stems from its experience and knowledge in detecting outbreaks of certain viral diseases and in the use of nuclear methods for their diagnosis. One such method is real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), which allows the identification of the COVID-19 virus within a few hours.
The IAEA works closely with the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and other key partners to assess the current level of knowledge about COVID-19, identify gaps and work to accelerate and fund priority research.
