ArmInfo. The need for an independent response to numerous growing challenges dictates the creation of analytical centers for Armenia. Ambassador Extraordinary  and Plenipotentiary, former Foreign Minister of Artsakh Arman  Melikyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.

"The first, most important step towards the formation of an  independent, sovereign foreign policy of Armenia should be the  formation and financing by the state of an appropriate structure. The  task of the latter should be an independent, specialized study of  processes in the world, with their subsequent analysis and  development of a state strategy for responding to all these processes  ", he noted.

Commenting on the current international situation, Melikyan ruled out  the possibility of a major war between the United States and Iran or  Russia and Turkey, both today and in the future. Washington, however,  will continue to strive for a change of power in Tehran. Ankara, in  turn, according to his forecasts, will continue to increase  military-political activity and presence in the eastern direction in  the next 3-5 years.  .

In this light, the diplomat sees the need for Armenia to take into  account the fact of Turkey's eastern priorities in its own political  priorities and intentions. He noted with regret that at the moment,  the public administration system of Armenia is deprived of the  appropriate structures that it does not have the ability to  independently study and analyze processes in the world. The latter  circumstance gives the impression that decision-makers in Yerevan are  guided by advice and analytical calculations coming from outside.

Melikyan considers geopolitical changes in the world after overcoming  the coronavirus inevitable, almost regardless of the fact of the  pandemic. In his opinion, coronavirus looks like a very insignificant  factor in comparison with the fundamental patterns that are in the  foundation of the expected changes. At the same time, he expressed  doubts about the presence of a big difference in the case of  comparing the exact figures of the percentage of mortality in the  world in the current and last year.

"At the same time, the coronavirus threat factor may well be used to  in order to cover the real causes of the future geopolitical changes  in the world, as well as to conceal the real strategies and tactics  of some centers of power on a global scale. From this point of view,  the COVID-19 pandemic may well become quite effective tool, "the  diplomat concluded.
