ArmInfo. The term of the arrest of the nephew of third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan Narek Sargsyan will be extended for another two months. Lawyer Narek Sargsyan Arthur Pivazyan reported this.
Pivazyan also emphasized that he had not received a written court decision. The lawyer also noted that he would appeal the decision in court when he received a written version of the decision.
<The fact is that the court of general jurisdiction did not provide sufficient arguments in connection with the arrest of Narek Sargsyan. That is, he didn't actually explain what caused the suspicion that Sargsyan might try to evade the investigation>, the lawyer emphasized.
To note, on December 24, Narek Sargsyan was arrested. Narek Sargsyan (the son of Serzh Sargsyan's brother - Alexander Sargsyan) is accused of illegally acquiring, storing, carrying, transporting or selling weapons and ammunition, as well as of illegal acquisition, storage, use and sale of drugs and narcotic drugs. The Police of Armenia, in cooperation with Interpol and foreign colleagues, found in the international wanted list of Narek Sargsyan on December 6, 2018. During the discovery, he had a fake passport of a Guatemalan citizen in the name of Franklin Gonzalez. At the beginning of December this year, it was decided by the relevant Czech authorities to satisfy the application of the RA Prosecutor General's Office to transfer Narek Sargsyan to the Armenian law enforcement agencies. He was extracted to Armenia on December 21.
