ArmInfo. Armenia and Russia celebrate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
"On April 3, 1992, diplomatic relations were established between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia. Russia and Armenia are connected with relations of allied partnership. The parties maintain close and constructive political dialogue at the highest levels; interact intensively at the level of ministries and departments. Cooperation is developing in the trade, economic and investment sectors. Cultural and educational ties are expanding.
Over 200 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental treaties and agreements have been concluded, "the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that contacts are active on governmental, departmental and regional lines, and the Russian-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation is working steadily.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the Russian-Armenian military cooperation is aimed at ensuring the security of both states, the southern flank of the Commonwealth and stability in Transcaucasia.
The ministry also reminded of the interaction in the field of education, noting that more than 3,500 students study at the Russian-Armenian University and the 6 branches of domestic universities operating in the republic.
It should be noted that the annual growth of foreign trade between Armenia and Russia in January- November 2019 slowed to 12.6% from last year's 13.5%, amounting to $ 1.98 billion. This was triggered by a slowdown in export growth from 19.3% to 10.8%, while import growth accelerated - from 10.6% to 13.6%, the volumes of which amounted to $ 671.5 million and $ 1.3 billion, respectively. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Russia holds the lead by a large margin.
