ArmInfo. As of March 24, 6:30pm, 249 patients with coronavirus were registered in Armenia. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced this today in a video address.
According to him, most of the patients are in the infectious diseases hospital in Nork, the rest - in other medical institutions of the republic. Some of these people, the prime minister noted, do not even have a fever, but their presence in medical institutions is necessary in order to prevent the spread of infection. Of the total number of cases, 11 were over 65 years old, 5 - over 70 years, fortunately, there were no cases over 80. However, 30 people have pneumonia, of which 5 are being treated in the intensive care unit.
Unfortunately, as Nikol Pashinyan noted, the health condition of a 77-year-old patient is extremely serious, doctors assess the health status of another 4 patients as serious. According to the situation at the moment, there are 826 isolated people in the republic, another 2419 people are in a state of self-isolation. The geography of the spread of the virus has also expanded. It has been registered in Yerevan, Ararat, Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Syunik, Shirak and Lori. The origin of the infection is known - one case is related to an Armenian citizen who returned from Iran, the second - an engagement in Echmiadzin and the third - at a factory in Yerevan. And if in cases with Iran and Echmiadzin it was possible to stop the spread of the virus, the situation in Yerevan's enterprise may lead to uncontrolled developments. This is evidenced by cases of infection of citizens at other enterprises in Yerevan and Echmiadzin. For this reason, it was decided to apply new, more stringent measures. For a week, all enterprises, cafes and restaurants must cease their activities, with the exception of facilities of vital importance. The movement of citizens is also restricted, they can go out only in case of emergency and with an identity document. In the very near future, the commandant's office of the state of emergency will approve forms of special passes. All these and other measures, according to the Prime Minister, pursue one goal - to protect citizens from the spread of the virus.
