ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is on a working visit to Vienna, met on the eve with the head of the UN office in Vienna, recently appointed executive director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime Geda Fathi Vali.
According to the press service of the RA MFA, congratulating Geda Fathi Vali on her appointment, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan wished her success in her responsible mission.
The parties noted with satisfaction the effective partnership established between Armenia and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and expressed their readiness to take practical steps to strengthen it. The Minister noted that solving problems within the competence of the office and promoting the sustainable development agenda are among the priorities of the Armenian government.
The Armenian Foreign Minister presented to the interlocutor the framework of large-scale reforms carried out by the RA government. The interlocutors emphasized the commitment of the Armenian authorities to the fight against corruption, emphasizing the importance of this fight, both at the national level and through the exchange of experience with various countries.
Recall that the representative of Egypt, Geda Fathi Vali took office in November last year. By decision of the UN Secretary General, she also became Director General of the UN Office in Vienna. In this post she replaced by Russian Yuri Fedotov.
