ArmInfo. On December 10, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Grigor Hovhannisyan participated in the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Argentine Republic, Alberto Angel Fernandez.
Congratulating Alberto Angel Fernandez, Grigor Hovhannisyan conveyed to the newly elected President of Argentina congratulations and warm wishes of the leadership of the Republic of Armenia, as well as an invitation to visit Armenia.
Alberto Fernandez on Tuesday officially took office as president of Argentina. He took the oath in the Congress building in the presence of deputies and senators. The presidential rod and ribbon to the new head of state was handed over by his predecessor Mauricio Macri.
Later, the head of state, together with vice president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, who held the highest state post from 2007 to 2015, will go to the presidential palace to take the oath of office of members of his government. The composition of the cabinet was announced last week.
The presidential election was held in Argentina on October 27th. Fernandez, representing the center-left coalition, won, with the support of 47.82% of voters.
