ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in Spitak, Lori region, to pay tribute to the memory of those killed in the terrible earthquake of  1988. The Armenian Prime Minister will attend the opening ceremony of  the bust of the American billionaire and philanthropist of Armenian  origin Kerk Kerkorian.

To note, a Japanese scientist who awarded the State Prize of the  Republic of Armenia for his worldwide contribution to the field of  information technology in 2019, professor of Carnegie Melon  University, author of the theory of "Origami World", Takeo Canada,  Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia  Suren Papikyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports  Araik Harutyunyan, MPs, Governor of Lori Region Andrei Ghukasyan.

After 31 years from the day of the tragic earthquake in Armenia,  which claimed more than 25 thousand human lives, the damage has not  yet been fully restored. In the epicenter of the earthquake - the  city of Spitak - its strength reached 10 points (on a 12-point  scale), in Leninakan - nine points, Kirovakan - eight points.
