As a result of large-scale operative-search work of the RA Police, the representative office of the Armenian Police in Russia and the corresponding units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, a resident of Yerevan Levon Sargsyan, born in 1968, was found and detained on November 21 in Zelenograd (Moscow region, Russia).
According to the press service of the Police, from October 1, 2018, he was wanted in connection with charges under clauses 1-2 of part 3 of article 175 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and part 2 of article 223 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The issue of his extradition is currently being decided. It should be noted that Levon Sargsyan is a former deputy of the Armenian parliament, and is known by the nickname "Alrakhatsi Lev".
As previously reported by the SNB, Sargsyan is the customer of the robbery attack on the house of ex-head of the Customs Committee of Armenia Armen Avetisyan, committed 11 years ago. As a result of searches conducted in 2018 in the mansion and apartment of Sargsyan, weapons and ammunition were discovered.
