Judge accused of taking bribe sentenced to 7 years in prison
ArmInfo. Judge Gagik Geboyan, accused of receiving a bribe, was sentenced to seven years in prison with confiscation of property (in the amount of no more than 1.7
million drams), and lawyer Vahagn Danielyan, who acted as an
intermediary in receiving a bribe, was sentenced to two years in
prison. A court of general jurisdiction adopted the corresponding
decision on November 20.
Geboyan was charged on the grounds of clauses 2 and 3 of part 4 of
Article 311 of the RA Criminal Code, and Danielyan - charges of part
1 of Article 313 of the RA Criminal Code. Earlier it was reported
that in March of this year, Geboyan demanded a bribe of $ 2,500 from
one citizen for his exemption from paying a state duty in the amount
of 3 million 400 thousand drams. The mediator in the matter of
transferring a bribe was Danielyan.
