ArmInfo.The values of the "Open Governance Partnership" initiative are fully consistent with the values of Armenia, and the republic shares these values. This was announced by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan about this during a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Initiative Sanjay Pradan.
According to the press service of the National Assembly of Armenia, during the meeting Mirzoyan said: "The rule of law and law and the fight against corruption are closely linked to transparency, accountability, the very principles and strategic vision that we adopted after last year's revolution. In parallel with these events, a transition from a semi-presidential system of government to a parliamentary system took place in Armenia, and we are pleased that the Open Government Partnership is expanding its powers and, in addition to the government, is implementing projects with parliaments. This really matches our approach>. The speaker noted that the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia has already taken certain steps in this direction, in particular, it has opened the doors of the Parliamentary Park for residents, now it plans to create a center for visitors so that citizens can also attend the National Assembly, create an interactive web portal and the Analytical Center expertise.
Sanjay Pradan emphasized that Armenia plays an important role in the initiative "Open Government Partnership" and among the 79 member countries of this initiative is a country that has made impressive democratic progress. He noted that the velvet revolution was a great incentive for the citizens of Armenia, who expressed a desire to achieve changes in the country. Sanjay Pradan stated that the "Open Government Partnership" is ready to fully support Armenia on the path to democracy. He presented a number of proposals to the speaker of the National Assembly, which can increase citizens' confidence in the reforms, and also expressed his readiness to assist in the course of anti-corruption, economic and judicial reforms. Ararat Mirzoyan thanked Sanjay Pradan for his appreciation and support.
