ArmInfo. On October 31, discussions were held in the Permanent Parliamentary Commission for the Protection of Human Rights with the participation of relatives of military personnel who died in peacetime.
The discussion was elevated, as the relatives of the victims are dissatisfied with the investigative measures. Arthur Melikyan, head of the special department of the IC of the Republic of Armenia, told reporters that the proceedings in these criminal cases were again resumed by decisions of various authorities. According to him, in order to verify the various versions, interrogations of witnesses and forensic medical examinations were carried out, however, the parents disagree with the conclusions received following the investigation.
On the sidelines of the parliament, relatives of the victims held a short meeting with Vice-Speaker Alen Simonyan, during which they stated that over the past years, the disclosure of these criminal cases has not been given due attention. At the same time, they claimed that the former authorities and the heads of law enforcement agencies were behind the attempts to hush up these cases. They also demanded a meeting with the participation of head of the Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan, and Attorney General Arthur Davtyan.
Simonyan assured that those who involved in the process of concealing the truth in criminal cases, will be punished, regardless of their position. <I promise you that. It is a question of time. The main thing is political will>, "he said, promising to report to the Prime Minister about issues raised by them.
