ArmInfo.The principles of the Open Governance Partnership Initiative are fully in tune with the priorities activities of the government of Armenia. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Open Partnership Initiative initiative, Sanjay Pradan.
According to the press service of the Government of Armenia, ArmInfo, welcoming the visit of the Chief Executive Officer of the initiative to our Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan noted the importance of the meeting held on October 30.
Open Management Partnership working group - Armenia, during which the process of implementation of the 4th initiative action program in Armenia was discussed. "The Armenian government attaches great importance to membership in an initiative whose principles are fully consistent with the priorities of our government: accountability, transparency, the rule of law and the protection of human rights. We are interested in continuing our effective partnership," said Nikol Pashinyan. According to the Prime Minister, after the velvet revolution, Armenia has been progressively moving forward by strengthening democratic institutions, and the government has already approved strategies for various fields - judicial and anti- corruption reforms aimed at achieving this goal.
Sanjay Pradan noted that Armenia plays an important role in the initiative and among 79 participants stands out for its impressive democratic progress. "The velvet revolution served as a great incentive for inspiration and hope on the part of the citizens of Armenia and showed the desire of citizens to bring about changes in the country. Open governance can really contribute to further successes of democracy in Armenia, and we are ready to help you in this process," said the chief executive of the initiative "Open Governance Partnership". He expressed satisfaction with the results of the meeting of the working group and emphasized that Armenia is an example in fulfilling the obligations of the "Open Governance Partnership" initiative, which is a good basis for expanding the scope of obligations in the next action plan. Touching upon further joint actions, Sanjay Pradan presented reform proposals aimed at increasing citizens' trust in the government, and expressed readiness to facilitate the process of judicial, anti-corruption, economic reforms, increase procurement transparency, as well as promote the active participation of civil society. Eduard Aghajanyan, the head of the Prime Minister's office participating in the meeting, presented the details of the meeting of the working group, noting that Armenia has fulfilled its obligations under the 4th program and formed effective cooperation, which is important from the point of view of reform implementation. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer of the Open Governance Partnership Initiative and emphasized that the Armenian government is committed to continuing its open, accountable, transparent governance and attaches great importance to supporting international partner institutions, including the Open Governance Partnership initiative, in developing institutional capacity in this area.
