ArmInfo.. Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia Michael Banchhaf. The Minister greeted the Ambassador and noted the good relations with the German Embassy, which have developed over many years, as well as the role that he plays in the direction of the programs implemented within the EU and direct cooperation with Germany.

Tigran Khachatryan presented the main goals of the Center for Assistance to Investors and those economic priorities towards which further development of cooperation between the countries will be possible in the near future. In particular, it refers to the areas of agriculture, manufacturing, information technology, tourism, the minister said, adding that in recent years, Germany has been one of the fastest growing passenger traffic destinations in Armenia.
According to the ambassador, German organizations provide consulting services in the fields of agriculture, winemaking and a number of other areas, and in the field of textiles and tourism there is great interest. He noted that the appearance of the Irish airline will also create great opportunities and increase passenger traffic with Germany.
According to Michael Banchhaf, Armenia in the medium term can be a link with the EAEU and other neighboring countries. He also touched on the possibilities of GIZ programs implemented in various areas of the German Society for International Cooperation.
The Minister thanked the Ambassador for the visit and noted that the upcoming programs will be of great importance for strengthening bilateral economic relations between the countries and, in particular, for developing the sphere of small and medium-sized businesses in Armenia.
