ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the newly appointed British Minister of State for Europe and the Americas Christopher Pincher, as part of a working visit to London.
As reported by ArmInfo in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, at the meeting, the Armenian minister emphasized with confidence that all the all preconditions exist to raise Armenian-British relations to a new level, as well as expand bilateral cooperation. In this context, the interlocutors mutually pointed out the importance of the further development of bilateral dialogue at all levels, and the full use of existing potential in all areas.
The parties indicated such key areas of interaction as information technology, high technology, innovative education, tourism, and others. They also pointed out the importance of implementing programs to exchange experiences in the above areas and enhance contacts between people.
Mnatsakanyan attracted the attention of his colleague to the large-scale reforms implemented by the Armenian government, aimed at strengthening democracy, human rights and the protection of fundamental freedoms. In this process, the special importance of effective interaction with international partners was emphasized. The ministers touched on a number of topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
In the context of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mnatsakanyan pointed out the importance of taking steps to prepare the populations for peace.
