ArmInfo. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian approved the agreement on the establishment of the International Bureau for investigating aviation crashes and major incidents.
According to the press service of the head of state, in addition to the agreement, a number of laws were adopted by the country's parliament.
Among the main functions of the Bureau are the cooperation and interaction of the parties with respect to the investigation of aircraft accidents and serious incidents, international cooperation of the parties with other interested states; facilitating the use of general guidance material, manuals and guides for investigators; training and improving the experience of investigators.
By agreement with other interested states, the Bureau will be able to independently conduct investigations or participate in such investigations in conjunction with national investigation authorities. The budget of the Bureau will be formed at the expense of shared contributions of the parties.
