ArmInfo. The Department of Information Technologies of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia initiated a meeting with the organizers of casinos, winning games and Internet sweepstakes, during which the project of introducing an electronic management system of the field was presented.
According to the press service of theSRC, the deputy chairman of the department Mikael Pashayan told those present that an advanced electronic control system for organizing and conducting games equipped with the latest technological solutions will be introduced. The system, he said, will help ensure its transparency, will be able to control financial flows, increase financial revenues to the state treasury, and eliminate the risks associated with money laundering and the financing of terrorism. It will also help to minimize the interference of the regulatory body in business processes, thereby ensuring a "silent" control regime.
At the same time, as Pashayan pointed out, as a result of certification of gaming devices and software support, the operation of uncertified gaming devices will be excluded, while ensuring the protection of the interests of players. "Through the analytical reporting system, it will be possible to carry out large-scale research and analysis, since the system works with a huge mass (Big data) of both digital and non-indexed text data," the tax and customs committee said in a statement.
To recall, earlier the Armenian legislator approved the amendments to the current Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia. Among other changes, the Ministry of Finance proposed from January 1, 2020 also to revise the taxation of the organization and conduct of gambling (including games on the Internet), sweepstakes. In particular, taxation of sweepstakes will be transferred to the field of income tax regulation from 2020, and gambling from 2021.
As noted, at this stage, the Ministry of Finance refrains from tax on winnings, including due to the fact that financial flows entering the organizer's pocket, are not controlled by the authorized body as of today.
