To recall, according to the official report of the Investigative Committee, last week during an argument in a courtyard of a building in the city of Yeghegnadzor, an officer of the Ministry of Defense received serious injuries. Harutyun Grigoryan, 28-year-old assistant to the governor of Vayots Dzor, punched the officer in the head, as a result of which he fell, having received serious injuries. In the framework of the criminal case, Grigoryan was charged with intentional grievous bodily harm. Assistant Governor has been rrested. Doctors at the moment evaluate the condition of Lieutenant Colonel of the Ministry of Defense Ara Mkhitaryan as extremely serious.
Relatives and friends of the officer demand a fair investigation from law enforcement agencies, and that the governor resign and even be convicted. "The fact that the officers were drunk is not a justification. They were also drunk, but their level of intoxication was not checked, they did not go to any forensic doctor. I demand that the prosecutor's office take this incident under personal control so that a fair investigation is carried out, because we don't believe the Vayots Dzor police, "said one of Mkhitaryan's relatives.
Governor Trdat Sargsyan, who is a member of the ruling Civil Contract party, said earlier that he had no reason to worry; he was not personally present at the incident. The Investigative Committee confiscated video cameras installed in the territory adjacent to the scene of the incident.
