Venice Commission experts and head of CC discussed processes in  judicial system reforms and fight against corruption

ArmInfo.On September 17, 2019,  President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan received the members of the expert group of the European Commission for  Democracy through Law  (Venice Commission), who are in Armenia at the  invitation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

According to the press service of the Constitutional Court of the  Republic of Armenia, during the meeting the parties touched the  processes in judicial system reforms and the fight against  corruption. Parties emphasized the importance of applying  international assistance mechanisms to implement these reforms.

To recall, the "My Step" parliamentary faction decided to begin the  process of terminating the powers of President of the Constitutional  Court (CC) Hrayr Tovmasyan. Speaking at the sitting of the National  Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Speaker of the Parliament  Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the National Assembly of Armenia, within  the framework of its powers, should express its position on the  situation around the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
