ArmInfo. The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction rejected the motion of Manvel Grigoryan's lawyers to release the latter on bail, the ArmInfo correspondent reports from the ground.
Lawyers submitted a request for the release of Grigoryan on bail in the amount of 25 million drams. Lawyers in particular noted that the general must be released taking into account his state of health, which is deteriorating day by day.
Lawyer Arsen Mkrtchyan, in particular, noted that Manvel Grigoryan has more than 30 diseases that prevent the latter from participating in court proceedings. "He just needs to be given the opportunity to undergo normal treatment," Mkrtchyan emphasized.
To recall, Manvel Grigoryan was detained in June 2018. He is accused of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition by prior conspiracy with his wife Nazik Amiryan, son Arman Grigoryan and others, for the appropriation of property allocated for the needs of military personnel and volunteers who protect the borders of the Artsakh Republic in the April four-day war and the following days, tax evasion taxes, embezzlement of public funds and organization of property theft with extortion. The investigation of the case against Manvel Grigoryan and his wife Nazik Amiryan was completed, the case was sent to court, and son of Grigoryan, Arman Grigoryan, was put on the wanted list. After the arrest, the health status of Grigoryan, who suffered from diabetes mellitus and not only repeatedly worsened, he was several times transferred from the pre-trial detention center to the civil hospital, however, all judicial authorities rejected the request to change the preventive measure against him.
