ArmInfo. On August 13, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the Security Council Secretary of Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev.
According to the Prime Minister's press service, during the meeting, Pashinyan noted that this is Patrushev's first visit to Armenia after political changes and a good occasion to discuss issues on the agenda of the Armenian-Russian partnership, including in this format. According to the Armenian Prime Minister, strategic cooperation between the countries is developing dynamically, and frequent high-level communication testifies to a constructive working atmosphere.
Pashinyan emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Security Councils of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation for the consistent development of the Armenian-Russian strategic ties, as well as in the context of jointly ensuring regional and international security and stability. Nikolai Patrushev, in turn, conveyed greetings from the President and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation to Nikol Pashinyan. He noted noted the productivity of consultations with his Armenian counterpart during which, according to him, various issues related to the security sphere were discussed, RA-RF interaction was affected both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
He said that in November 2019 a meeting of the heads of the Security Councils of the CIS countries is planned, and Armenia, as always, has confirmed its participation in the meeting. During the meeting, an exchange of views took place around the process of resolving the Karabakh conflict and maintaining the military balance in the region. Issues of regional and international security were also discussed.
