ArmInfo.966.4 million drams will be allocated for the design work of new customs clearance point for vehicles in Gyumri. The decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet on August 8.
Introducing the draft decision, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) David Ananyan noted that the funds will be raised by increasing the state-owned revenue side. The new paragraph is intended to become part of the center for the promotion of foreign economic activity. As part of the program, a project will be developed for the building of the station, asphalting and concreting of roads, and the creation of the necessary infrastructure. At the same time, as noted by the chairman of the SRC, taking into account the limited time it is envisaged to conclude agreements from one person. In particular, the outside Moscow company will be engaged in the design of the construction of the station, and Shin CJSC construction industry will monitor the implementation of the work. David Ananyan assured that procurement of services from one person will not affect the quality and terms of the program. David Ananyan stated that the program is quite voluminous, and for this reason the SRC will periodically submit decisions to the government aimed at financing one or another part of the project.
Earlier, ArmInfo reported that a program was launched in Armenia to open a new vehicles customs clearance center in Gyumri. The total cost of the program is 2.2 billion drams. The intentions to transfer the customs clearance point for imported cars from the customs department in Noragavit to Gyumri come from the order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia in connection with an unprecedented increase in the import of motor vehicles from countries that are not members of the EAEU. It is planned to build a car customs in Gyumri on the territory of 21.5 hectares owned by the Ministry of Defense. 4.5 hectares from this territory will be allocated for the establishment of a customs and police service center. It is envisaged that the new customs control point for imported vehicles will become part of the project of opening two centers for promoting foreign economic activity - in Gyumri and Sisian. Thus, both centers will be located along the North-South highway. The process will require not months, as many expect, but several years. The construction will be carried out on grant and credit funds and, according to preliminary estimates, will require $ 19-21 million for the construction of each Center.
