ArmInfo. The judge of the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan David Grigoryan confirmed that a search was conducted in his office. The judge said that as part of the search, officers of the Special Investigation Service confiscated his computer. David Grigoryan also stressed that these actions were carried out on the basis of the relevant decisions that would be appealed by him.
It should be noted that on July 17 officers of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia searched the office of Judge David Grigoryan.
"The search in Grigoryan's office was carried out within the framework of the criminal case investigated by the Special Investigation Service," press secretary of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia Marina Ohajanyan told ArmInfo. She added that she couldn't yet tell what case she was talking about.
To recall, it was Judge David Grigoryan who earlier made the decision to release the former President Robert Kocharyan from custody, based on guarantees from the former and current Presidents of Artsakh. Later, Grigoryan suspended the proceedings and transferred the case to the Constitutional Court. Then, the Court of Appeal annulled this decision and re-arrested Kocharyan, sent the case for further investigation. In turn, Judge Grigoryan suspended the proceedings and transferred the case to the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court of Armenia will consider the appeal of Grigoryan on August 20. On July 26, 2018, the Special Investigative Service charged Kocharyan with overthrowing the constitutional order in a criminal case on dispersing protest actions on March 1, 2008. The second president is also charged with accepting bribes on a large scale. Kocharyan considers the charges fabricated political persecution.
