ArmInfo. Certainly we are not indifferent to the political processes in Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia, since the matter concerns the fraternal nations with which we are connected by a long history of relations, including living in one state, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in the Interview to AF.
"Unfortunately, after the collapse of the USSR, the West hoped that the "end of history" had come, and it is now allowed to roughly intervene in the affairs of certain states, unceremoniously command internal political processes. Ukraine is perhaps the most glaring example. With Armenia, the situation is different. This country is a key partner of Russia in the Transcaucasus. It has strategic and allied relations with it. The political dialogue, cooperation on the parliamentary line, in the international arena, is intensive in nature. Russia is the leading economic partner of Armenia. Educational, cultural, investment, military-technical relations are developing dynamically, " the Russian minister said.
Touching upon relations with Georgia, Lavrov expressed the conviction that its people did not consider the Russians as enemies. "Unfortunately, today we see some politicians of this country competing in anti- Russian rhetoric to achieve their narrow-minded, opportunistic goals. I am sure that everything will fall into place over time, and good-neighborly relations between our states will be restored. If we talk in general, our agenda in the post-Soviet space is unifying in nature, aimed at stimulating the socio-economic development of the countries located there, promoting and harmonizing the integration processes in the region, strengthening collective security and joint capability to respond to threats and challenges " Lavrov concluded.
