ArmInfo.Preparatory work has been completed for activities of the investigative commission of the Armenian parliament investigating the circumstances of the April war. This was stated on July 16 in an interview with journalists by an MP from the "My Step" bloc, head of the parliamentary commission Andranik Kocharyan.
He noted that the commission works in accordance with the previously established schedule. "We are ready to proceed to the investigation stage, which will be fully implemented when the members of the commission are constantly in Yerevan," Kocharyan stressed, adding that this phase will begin before September.
The MP also said that now members of the commission are studying the documents in order to clearly understand what issues should be addressed to the invited persons.
When asked what the commission would do if the former officials ignored the invitation of the commission and did not come, he replied: "I cannot imagine the reasons for refusal, because in this case a number of questions will arise. If you refuse, then you have something to hide, I don't think anyone decides to act in this way,'' the MP said. He also stated that if necessary, the commission members will invite former President Serzh Sargsyan.
According to Kocharyan, the work of this commission will be aimed at improving the country's security system.
The lawmaker also noted that during the study of the documents, very interesting documents were revealed, which, however, were not a surprise to him.
