ArmInfo. The Council of Europe Venice Commission made it clear to the Armenian authorities that it was necessary to abandon the idea of the so-called vetting of judges. This is stated in the statement of the Communist Party of Armenia in connection with the negative position of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe on the initiative of the authorities of the republic to carry out vetting and scandalous statements by Constitutional Court member Vahe Grigoryan.
As noted in the statement of the CPA, European colleagues are forcing the Armenian authorities to act in accordance with the recommendations which were voiced by the Communist Party of Armenia two months ago.
An obvious criticism was also voiced of the action taken in May aimed at blocking the work of the courts, emphasizing the unconstitutional nature of the statements of Judge of the Constitutional Court Vahe Grigoryan. "In fact, European colleagues instruct our authorities to act in accordance with the recommendations that were voiced by the Armenian Communist Party two months ago. Namely, despite the need for reforms in the judicial system, everything should be carried out within the framework of the country's Constitution, without any vetting or other actions. Armenia and its people need constructive work aimed at improving the socio-economic situation and preparing for countering serious external challenges, "the Party noted in a statement.
