An attempt to smuggle a large consignment of drugs is prevented in  Armenia

ArmInfo. The Directorate for Combating Smuggling of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia (SRC) prevented an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of drugs, which  they tried to transport by postal parcel.

As reported by the press office of the SRC, employees of the  anti-smuggling department and the Western Board of Customs at  Zvartnots Airport, within the framework of customs control at the  cargo complex, inspected a courier package exported to Canada on  behalf of Iranian citizen A.G.

During customs inspection, in two metal and cylindrical parts,  declared as spare parts for a combine, two cylindrical masses were  found, similar to an apion type drug with a total weight of 2,528  grams, dark brown, with a pungent smell.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of article  267.1 of the RA Criminal Code in the Investigation and Operational  Search Department of the SRC. "Operational activities continue to  clarify the fact of the possible involvement of other individuals,"  the statement of the SRC reads.
