ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Speaker of the Singapore Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin, with whom they discussed prospects for the development of bilateral relations. This is said in the official statement of the RA government. During the meeting, the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore expressed confidence that the visit of the Armenian Prime Minister will contribute to the development and expansion of friendly relations with Armenia.
In turn, Nikol Pashinyan, stressing the importance of the visit to Singapore, noted that all the meetings took place in an effective, practical and friendly atmosphere. "We are interested in developing ties with your country, including in the political and economic sectors," the Prime Minister said, stressing the need to stimulate cooperation between entrepreneurs. In this vein, the prime minister attached importance to the signing of an agreement on free trade with the EAEU and ratifying the document as soon as possible. Pashinyan referred to the priorities of the government and the ongoing reforms in the country, stressing the importance of cooperation with Singapore in this regard.
The Speaker of the Singapore Parliament, stressing the existence of bilateral historical and cultural ties, added that they are a good basis for giving new impetus to cooperation between governments and parliaments.
The interlocutors also stressed the need to form inter-parliamentary friendship groups, as well as close cooperation of parliamentarians at international platforms.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the development experience of Singapore in various fields and issues of mutual interest.
Nikol Pashinyan conveyed to the speaker of the Singapore Parliament an invitation to visit Armenia on behalf of the President of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, which was accepted. According to the report, before the meeting, the head of the Armenian government left an entry in the book of honorable guests.
