ArmInfo.The Office of the Ombudsman of Armenia initiated a consultation procedure following a disturbing publication on the detention of the member of Armenian Environmental Front civic initiative Anna Shahnazaryan.
According to the press service of the Office of the Ombudsman, in addition, the hotline of the Ombudsman's office also received an appeal from a member of the civic initiative. "After the consultations initiated, a connection was established with Anna Shahnazaryan. The latter submitted a written complaint to the RA Ombudsman, in which she stated that the police officers who brought her did not present her the reasons for her detention, her judicial status and her rights the police officers unreasonably confiscated the property of members of the protest rally and the available funds. According to the wording of Shahnazaryan, the police officers informed her that she had been brought under suspicion of fraud. "On the basis of all the data collected, the Ombudsman of Armenia sent a relevant request to the RA police," the Ombudsman said.
Meanwhile, as the press service of the RA police told ArmInfo, all the detained protesters who had organized a flash mob at the door of the mayor's office yesterday had been released on the same day.
