ArmInfo.On June 25, RA National Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan received the parliamentary delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, headed by the Vice- Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Manh Tien.
According to the press service of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, welcoming the guests, Ararat Mirzoyan highly appreciated the established Armenian-Vietnamese inter-parliamentary communication, expressing the hope that the current visit of the parliamentary delegation will give new impetus to the further expansion of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. According to him, in contrast to parliamentary relations, bilateral relations are not at the desired level with significant potential in the economy, culture, tourism and other areas. The head of the parliament expressed hope that in the near future the embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will start operating in Yerevan, which will give a new impetus to bilateral relations. Noting that the current visit of the Vietnamese parliamentary delegation is the first to visit Armenia, Nguyen Manh Tien described this as clear evidence of his country's great interest in cooperation with Armenia. "We highly appreciate the ties between the parliaments of our countries and expect that such reciprocal visits will give them additional impetus in the development of bilateral relations in various fields," said Nguyen Manh Tien, conveying the invitation of the head of the Vietnamese parliament to Ararat Mirzoyan. According to the Vietnamese parliamentarian, Vietnam views Armenia as a good bridge between Asia and Europe, so they expect the Armenian side to play an active role in a number of regional structures. Expressing gratitude for the invitation to visit Vietnam, the NA President stressed that the Armenian side shows great interest in deepening relations both with Vietnam and with other countries of the region. According to him, it is time to take practical steps to enhance cooperation.
