ArmInfo.Lawyers for the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, intend to appeal the decisions of the Criminal Court of Appeal to arrest Kocharyan to resume the proceedings on March 1, 2008.
The basis for appeal is the fact that the principle of a fair trial was violated - lawyers were not allowed to speak and submit their objections, and during the last meeting of the Criminal Court of Appeal, Judge Armen Danielyan refused to hear the arguments of Kocharyan's defense and went to the deliberation room for a verdict. Kocharyan's defense, after receiving the verdict of the Criminal Court of Appeal, will consider the possibility of submitting additional grounds for complaint. The Criminal Court of Appeal chaired by Judge Armen Danielyan satisfied the motion of the Prosecutor General's Office to review the verdict of the court of general jurisdiction regarding the change of the measure of restraint against the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, accused of overthrowing the constitutional order from arrest for release on personal bail. This means that by the decision of the Court of Appeal, Kocharyan will be arrested again. In addition, the Criminal Court of Appeal granted the second part of the petition of the Prosecutor General's Office to review the decision of the judge of the court of general jurisdiction David Grigoryan to suspend the proceedings on March 1 and appeal to the Constitutional Court. This decision means that the trial on March 1 will be resumed.
