ArmInfo.Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan received the Ambassador of Russia to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin. During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the relations established between the two countries in the legal field, as well as the developing cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation in bilateral and multilateral formats, which fully reflects the nature and level of the allied relations of the two states.

The RA Prosecutor General stressed that the measures provided for by the programs of periodically renewed cooperation between the prosecutors' offices of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, which are currently ongoing, greatly contribute to the improvement of professional and quality skills of prosecutors, create the possibility of more direct and thorough discussion of working problems of mutual interest their solutions. Ambassador Kopyrkin, in turn, stressed the need to further strengthen ties between the RA and the Russian Federation in the legal sphere, confirming the embassy's readiness to assist in this matter. The sides also touched upon judicial reforms in Armenia. The Prosecutor General presented the approaches of the prosecutor's office on them and stressed their importance. The parties also discussed the process of fighting corruption. Artur Davtyan highlighted the work carried out in the direction of collecting property of illegal origin, creating institutional mechanisms for returning assets seized from Armenia by criminal means, which, according to the Prosecutor General, will significantly contribute to the effectiveness of criminal cases investigated in cases of corruption crimes and the prevention of illegal enrichment. Artur Davtyan noted that in the sphere of international cooperation measures will be taken to return the assets exported from Armenia by criminal means. For this purpose, the process of mutual recognition of the decisions of the courts of Armenia and third countries is important. During the meeting, issues of increasing the effectiveness of mutual legal assistance between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation were also discussed.
